Any usability problems found by users in the field will undermine your reputation for quality products and the resulting change requests will be about 100 times more expensive to implement than changes discovered by your self in the early phases of the project.
Users have infinite potential for making unexpected misinterpretations of interface elements and for performing their job in a different way than you imagine.
This result certainly indicates the need to keep iterating past such negative results and to plan for at least three versions, since version two may not be any good.
